JOURNEYBOX are from Glasgow, Scotland. They are Pete Morrison on vocals and guitar, and Kari Morrison on vocals and keyboards. Whilst the band have been writing for some time, it's recently that everything has been coming together. With their first album about to be released and songs already being chosen for compilation releases, the future looks bright indeed.

"I'm finally feeling like I'm free to create - there's nothing holding us back. Everywhere people are doing things to find an identity, but we're just being ourselves and letting the music come from our heart. I'd rather be true to who I am and people hate the songs than make music to please people. On the other hand that's the whole point, giving others pleasure. JOURNEYBOX is us doing what we love to bring something beautiful into people's lives." (Pete)

The album has been gradually recorded over a period of about a year, the band financing everything themselves and developing as they've moved forward. "The songs have a coherence, which is amazing as we recorded and wrote them at such different times and places. I think it's because we're just doing what comes naturally, and we're changing with the music. It's amazing when people come back to you and they love the music, every time it happens we're excited, because that's the whole point." (Kari)

The songs were recorded with engineer and producer John Gallagher from Opus Recordings. Pete and John had previously been in a band together, so when John approached him about working on Pete's songs, it was an easy decision. "There's always been a creative chemistry with us, so it's been really exciting to work together on the album" (Pete) Most tracks were recorded in John's home studio, and the rest in Pete's flat in Glasgow. The album was then mastered by ROBYN ROBINS who has worked with Rodrigo y Gabriela, Sinead O'Connor, Damien Rice and remastered tracks for U2 (a total of 60 gold and platinum albums worldwide). Pete drew the artwork for the album cover, the band working with ATN on the design. “At a certain point it was suddenly the cover we’d hoped for, one that reflected ‘story’ and the songs' beauty. It’s different in that it’s a piece of art with the cd itself hidden inside” (Kari). The album is now available on iTunes and most digital download sites, with retail outlets following - look out for updates on myspace.
